New Back-to-School Cookie Cutters and Designs
While most of you are probably planning out your Fourth of July barbecue spreads, or enjoying your summer freedom from studying, I bet the last thing on your mind is back-to-school cookies.
Maybe when you opened this blog post you thought (along with an eye roll), "Mike, you crazy! It's too early for back-to-school!"
I know, I know. I wanted provide back-to-school cookie cutter designs in the shop early to beat the rush. There were a few times this past year I had to shut the shop down just to catch up. Hopefully, by releasing these designs early, this would prevent that. Also, this will help give ample time to start planning your own back-to-school cookie options for the upcoming season.
Over the next couple of weeks, I still plan on releasing new decorating tutorials as August approaches. But in the meantime, I’m excited to show you all the new back-to-school cookie cutters below!
Back-to-School Cookie Cutters
Just added to the shop are six new back-to-school cookie cutters!
The cookie dimensions were set based on ideal sizes for packaging, which I’ll go into detail below.
Gift Packaging for Back-to-School Cookies
These Back-to-School cookies were designed to be given as a single cookie favor, or mixed-and-matched in easy gift sets.
- For a single cookie favor, I love these 4″x 4″ gift boxes from ClearBags.com.
- For 2 and 3-cookie gift sets, these 7″ x 4.25″ gift boxes from BRP Boxshop are my go-to boxes for small gifts.

Decorated Back-to-School Cookies
School Supplies Cookie Set
The first gift set idea is this school supplies cookie cutter. This design mimics last's year's Halloween basic witch set. To keep things simple, I purposely just used the ends of a pencil, ruler, and crayon instead of their whole body.
The top and bottom banner is an existing cookie cutter I debuted in two fall seasons ago with this fall set.
Apples Cookie Set
This next gift set idea is another Halloween redo. Similar to this candy corn set, I made an apples set cookie cutter with teachers in mind.
This one also uses the same banner cutter as above and can be personalized with a teacher's name or kept pretty general with "back to school".
School Bus Cookie Cutter with Chalkboard
This whimsy school bus cookie cutter was inspired by the Disney movie Cars. I mean, check out those windshield wiper eyebrows.
It's great as a single cookie favor, or as a set of two. In the 2-cookie set, I paired it with a simple chalkboard using this rounded rectangle cookie cutter.
Bookworm Cookies
Embrace your inner nerd with these bookworm cookies. There's two cutter options available: this isolated bookworm...
... or this bookworm on a book! This book version is great for adding a personalized name.
