If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
To decorate these Christmas Santa cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:
- Brick Red Color royal icing (I mixed Americolor Tulip Red with a touch of Warm Brown and Americolor Super Black.)
- Red piping icing (I used Americolor Tulip Red.)
- Light Blue icing (I used just a tiny touch of Americolor Wedgewood.)
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
- Black icing (I used Americolor Super Black.)
- Yellow icing (I mixed Americolor Egg Yellow.)
Step 1
For the Santa top cookie, begin by painting a thin layer of light blue icing where there is an empty space between the feet. Let this icing dry for about 20 minutes.
Next, fill in the entire suit area (coat and pants) with red icing.
Step 2
When the red icing had time to set, fill in both boot sections with black icing. Also, add a black band for the belt, as shown. Let this icing set.
Next, add the white fur bands of Santa's suit.
Step 3
Finish the cookie by adding the gold belt buckle over the black belt band.
Step 4
For the bottom chimney cookie, beginning by flooding the entire cookie with brick red icing. Let this icing set for about an hour.
Then add the two snow accent sections, as shown, with white icing.
Step 5
Lastly, add a few brick rectangles in a slight brick pattern, as shown.
