Decorate a Hanging Easter Bunny Cookie Set with Royal Icing
Let's welcome in spring with our newest tutorial. Today, we're diving into one of my favorite Easter designs with this step-by-step tutorial on how to decorate a hanging Easter Bunny cookie set. This whimsical 3-piece set features an adorable bunny hanging off of a plaque that can be personalized with someone's name. Let's get started!
Hanging Easter Bunny Cookie Cutter Set
This hanging Easter Bunny cookie cutter set includes 3 cookie cutters, each a different part of the hanging Easter bunny.
When assembled, this Easter bunny set would fit nicely in this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").
Template for the Hanging Easter Bunny Cookie Set
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's Easter cookie collection, including this Easter Bunny cookie set design.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
For this Easter bunny cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:
- Turquoise royal icing (I mixed Americolor Turquoise with a touch of Americolor Taupe.)
- Pink icing (I used Rainbow Dust Pink.)
- Yellow icing (I used Egg Yellow.)
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
- Black icing (I used Americolor Super Black.)
Step 1
Starting with the head cookie, begin by filling in the pink inner sections of the ears. Let that icing crust over.
Then fill in the head section around the eye holes with white icing, as shown. Let this icing set for an hour.
Step 2
Next, fill in the outer parts of the ears with white icing.
Then add the facial details, like the eyes, the nose, and the eyebrows.
Step 3
For the middle plaque sign cookie, flood the entire cookie with the color of your choice. I used turquoise blue icing. Let this icing set for an hour.
Once the icing sets, add the two white paw circles at the top, as shown.
Step 4
Add the name of choice. I used a cookie projector to add the names to my cookies.
For the finger lines, I draw them on with a silver food pen.
Step 5
For the bunny tail cookies, start by flooding the entire cookie with white icing. Let that icing set for about an hour.
Then add the two feet on top of that icing.
Step 6
Add the pink foot pads on top of the feet sections.
Then add icing and white nonpareil sprinkles for the cottontail detail.
