Template for the Firework Farm Truck Cookies
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's 4th of July collection.
Click the link below for the downloadable template PDF file.
This file is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
For these 4th of July truck cookies, the colors I used are listed below:
- Light Blue royal icing (I mixed Americolor Wedgewood with a touch of Super Black.)
- Darker Blue flood icing (I used more food gel concentration of the Light Blue icing color above.)
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
- Red icing (I mixed Americolor Super Red with a little Dark Blue icing from above.)
- Gray icing (I used a touch of Americolor Super Black.)
- Black icing (I used Americolor Super Black.)
Step 1
For the front of the truck cookie, begin by filling in the white window, the inner wheel, and the gray bumper. Let this icing set for about 20 minutes.
Then add the black tire around the white rim of the wheel.
Step 2
Next, fill in the entire body of the truck with red icing. Let this icing dry for about an hour.
Then add the bump over the tire, as shown, and the gray door handle.
Step 3
For the back of the truck cookie, begin by filling in the inner wheel, the red body of the truck, and the top stripe section of the rocket. Let this icing set for about 20 minutes.
Then add the black tire around the white wheel, the bumper, the dark blue rocket top, and the bottom rocket stripe.
Step 4
Next, add the bump over the wheel, the star detail on the rocket top, and the remaining white stripe on the rocket, as shown.
Step 5
For the firework cookie, begin by flooding the entire cookie with white icing. Let this icing completely dry.
Next, I used the firework bloom stencil, and swiped dark blue royal icing over the design. I scraped off the excess icing with a spatula.
Step 6
For the firework farm sign, I used a projector to pipe "Red White & Boom" on the plaque.

Cookie Packaging Ideas
For cookie packaging ideas, I listed a few box options in this previous Fall Farm Truck Cookie blog post. It goes over packaging ideas for the various size options available for this farm truck cookie set.
For the REGULAR size, like I used in this post, a 4-piece set would fit nicely in this 8"x8"x1.5" cookie box from BRP Box Shop. The lid is attached to the bottom of the box, which I find convenient.
