Template for the 4th of July Cookie Box Sets
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's 4th of July collection.

This file is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Icing Colors Used for these 4th of July Cookies
For these 4th of July cookies, the colors I used are listed below:
- Light Blue royal icing (I mixed Americolor Wedgewood with a touch of Super Black.)
- Darker Blue flood icing (I used more food gel concentration of the Light Blue icing color above.)
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
- Red icing (I mixed Americolor Super Red with a little Dark Blue icing from above.)
Cookie Box Set Packaging
For the following box sets, I used two different types of boxes. One box is a little larger than the other. If you find the cookies are going to be a tight fit in the box, I would opt for the larger box size.
LARGE- This box is the 5 3/8″ x 7 1/2” box from Clearbags.com.
REGULAR- This size is this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").

To get the pleated folded illusion on the wavy bunting cookie, I used this starburst stencil and airbrushed AmeriMist Stone (2 drops of stone with 10 drops of water). This gave a subtle gray shadow effect onto the cookie that looks like folded fabric.

Oh! I forgot to mention if you noticed the purposely-blue cookie dough color in the photos above, I used the latest blueberry cutout cookie recipe. After icing the cookies, they tasted delicious! I can tell it's going to be a favorite recipe of mine for years to come.
