Cookie Templates for "We go together like..." Cookies
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template available for the new "We go together like..." food cookie sets.
You can download these cookie templates HERE.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
For these food pair cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:
- Red royal icing. (I used Americolor Super Red.)
- Dark Brown icing (I mixed Americolor Chocolate Brown with Super Black.)
- Tan icing (I mixed Americolor Orange with Americolor Electric Green and a touch of Chocolate Brown.)
- Yellow piping icing ( used Americolor Egg Yellow.)
- Green icing (I mixed Americolor Leaf Green and Egg Yellow.)
- Light Blue icing (I used Americolor Wedgewood.)
- Black icing (I used Super Black.)
- Pink icing (I used Rainbow Dust Pink.)
Milk Carton Cookie
Step 1
Acting fast, begin by filling in the middle area with light blue icing. Be sure to outline around the eyes. Next, quickly fill in the white top and bottom sections, then add the two dots of pink for the cheeks. Let this icing set up (about an hour).
Once the base layer had time to set, fill in the eyes with black icing, followed immediately with the white dot accents, as shown.
Step 2
Finish this milk carton cookie by adding the outlines and draw in the smile with a black food pen.
Decorated Chocolate Chip Cookie
Step 1
Flood the entire cookie (except for the eye holes) with tan icing. Then quickly add the two dots of pink for the cheeks. Let this icing set.
Once the base layer had time to set, fill in the eyes with black icing, followed immediately with the white dot accents, as shown.
Step 2
Next, add the chunks of chocolate chips around the cookie with dark brown icing. Lastly, draw in the smile with a black food pen.
Burger Cookie
Step 1
Acting fast, begin by filling in the top bun area with tan icing. Be sure to outline around the eyes. Next, quickly add the white dot accents, then add the two dots of pink for the cheeks. Also, fill in the burger patty section with dark brown icing. Let this icing set up (about an hour).
Next, fill in the lettuce and lower bun sections.
Step 2
Once the base layer had time to set, fill in the eyes with black icing, add the drips of ketchup, and add the slice of cheese, as shown.
Finish this burger cookie by adding the outlines to the buns and lettuce, and draw in the smile with a black food pen.
French Fries Cookie
Step 1
Begin by filling in the bottom fry carton area with red icing. Be sure to outline around the eyes. Next, add the two dots of pink for the cheeks.
Once that icing had time to set, flood the top section with yellow icing.
Step 2
Finish this french fries cookie by adding the outlines to the fries and around the red carton. Draw in the smile with a black food pen.
