Love Birds Cookie Cutter Set
This love birds cookie cutter set includes two pieces, a left bird and a right bird. It is available in a two sizes, but for this tutorial I used the LARGE size.

Template for the Love Birds Cookie Set
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's Valentine cookie collection, including this love birds cookie set design.

This file is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
To decorate these love bird cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:
- Teal royal icing. (I mixed Americolor Wedgewood with Americolor Mint Green.)
- Pink icing (I used just a touch of Americolor Tulip Red with Wilton Pink.)
- Black icing (I used Americolor Super Black.)
- Yellow icing ( used Americolor Egg Yellow.)
Step 1
The steps for both birds are the same. Begin by flooding the entire cookie with teal icing (and pink for the right bird). Let that icing set for about an hour.
Then add the wing detail and the yellow lower beak detail. Let this icing set for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
Next, add the eyes with black icing, the upper beak detail with yellow icing, and outline the feathers and body for definition.
