Templates for the Pilgrim Fox Cookie Set
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template available for this new Thanksgiving pilgrim fox cookie set.
You can download these cookie templates HERE.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
For the colors used for these pilgrim fox cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
- Black icing (I used Americolor Super Black.)
- Burnt Orange icing (I mixed Americolor Orange with a touch of Warm Brown.)
- Brown icing (I used Rainbow Dust Chestnut with a touch of Black.)
- Pink icing (I used Wilton Rose with a touch of the burnt orange icing above.)
- Yellow icing (I used Americolor Egg Yellow.)
Step 1
For the body cookie, begin by first filling in the tummy and tail sections. For the tail, I added the orange then quickly added the white tip. Let this icing set.
Next, fill in the shirt section with black icing.
Step 2
Fill in the two feet sections with orange icing.
Then add the arms with black icing and add the pink paw pad details.
Step 3
Lastly, finish the body cookies by adding the two white collar details, as shown.
Step 4
For the boy head cookie, begin by filling in the lower white face section and the two black sections of the hat, as shown. Let this icing set.
Then add the orange face section (be sure to flood around the eyes) and then fill in the brown hat band section.
Step 5
Next, fill in the eyes with black icing and quickly add the white dot accents. Add the black nose and two orange ears.
Then add the yellow square buckle detail.
Step 6
Lastly, finish the boy head cookie by outlining the hat, adding the center buckle detail, and drawing on a smile with a black food pen.
Step 7
For the girl head cookie, begin by filling in the lower face section and the hat brim section with white icing. Let this icing set.
Then fill in the face section (around the eyes) with orange icing, and fill in the upper hat section.
Step 8
Next, fill in the eyes with black icing and white accents. Add the black nose and two orange ears.
Finish the cookie by outlining the hat brim and drawing in the eyelashes and smile with a black food pen.
Thanksgiving Pilgrim Fox Cookie Video Tutorial
The steps above are summarized in the time-lapsed video below.
These sitting pilgrim fox cookies come in two size options: LARGE and REGULAR.
In the next few photos, you can see all the LARGE options nestled in this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").
The boy and girl fox do use the same body for convenience, but I flipped the cookie over before I baked them for the girl bodies. This is totally optional, I just thought it made it a little more interesting.
In conclusion, crafting a delightful Thanksgiving cookie set featuring the charming two-piece pilgrim fox design is a wonderful way to add a touch of warmth and creativity to your holiday gatherings.
