Template for the Grad Cap & Diploma Cookies
To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's graduation cookie collection, including these cookie designs.
Click the link below for the downloadable template PDF file.
This file is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.
If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.
The Cookie Decorating Process
For these graduation cookies, you will probably match your cookies with the school colors of your event. However, if you're wondering what colors I used, I listed them below:
- Green royal icing (I mixed Americolor Leaf Green with a touch of Americolor Super Black.)
- Yellow icing (I used Americolor Egg Yellow.)
- White icing (I used Americolor Bright White.)
Step 1
For the grad cap cookie, begin by first filling the center cap section. Let that icing set.
Then fill in the top of the cap and the lower part of the tassel.
Step 2
For finish the base layer by filling in the round top of the tassel. Let this base layer dry completely.
After the icing had time to dry, stencil over the cap with the "Class of 2024" cookie stencil with stiff white icing.
Complete the cookie by adding the tassel string.
Step 3
For the diploma cookie, begin by first filling the center bow section and the top of the diploma section.
Then fill in the remaining sections of the diploma.
Step 4
Finish the bow details by outlining the bow sections. Let that outline set. Then fill in the three different sections for a puffy bow look.
