Hello, September! The autumn season is so close I can literally feel and see it! When there's pumpkin spice flavor options showing up on the grocery shelves and it's finally cooling off at night, Fall has arrived! I've been so inspired by the season change I came up with a relatively easy fall cookie cutter set just for this occasion.

Fall Cookie Cutter Set

Just posted to the shop is this new set of fall cookie cutters. The set includes three separate cookie cutters: a wide leaf, a banner, and a pumpkin. You can purchase all three together or individually.

The idea behind this set is simple. This is another 3-piece set that fits in my favorite favor box from BRP BoxShop. In addition, each piece can also be used individually, as a place card cookie at a dinner party or as a personalized gift.

Each cookie in this fall cookie cutter set was designed to be wide, providing plenty of room to add a word or name of your choosing. In this example, I show two phrases, "Happy Fall Y'all" and "Warm Autumn Wishes". However, the possibilities are endless. Some other ideas that crossed my mind were "Happy Thanks Giving", "Thankful Grateful Blessed", or maybe "Eat Nap Repeat" (which is my Thanksgiving Day routine).

Fall Cookie Cutter Template

I made a template of the three cookie designs pictured above, along with the two phrases in the fonts I used in my example (see below). However, feel free to change things up a bit and use your own unique phrase in any favorite font you wish.

You can download the fall cookie set template HERE.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

Fonts

For reference, here are the three fonts I used and where to find them. They are free to download for personal use.

Font Tip! Wordmark.it

Speaking of fonts, I wanted to share something a little different from my typical blog posts. I figured a decorating tutorial wasn't really necessary since these cookies are basically a flooded cookie with writing on it. Not much to it. However, because fonts play a big role in this fall cookie cutter set, I wanted to share a tip I use when it comes to picking out fonts.

Wordmark.it is a free webapp that displays a word of your choice with all of the fonts installed on your computer. It happens instantly and there is no download required! Just head over to Wordmark.it and type in the text you want to preview. The site will show you how it would look in all your fonts.

You can even adjust the font size and filter the grid down to a few fonts for an easy comparison.

It's a webapp that I used all the time and one I think every cookier should bookmark. Go ahead and give it a try!

Fall Cookie Set by Semi Sweet Designs

One last thing, if you are wondering how I did the airbrushed dot effect, I used the same method and stencil described in this Pop Art Valentine Cookies post. The stencil is a Heidi Swapp brand that I found at Michaels, but I'm sure there are other similar dot stencils available that could produce the same effect.

Happy Fall Y'all!
