By now you probably are well aware of my love for farmhouse charm (you can see my past farmhouse cookie sets here, here, and here.)

Coincidentally, autumn is the time of year I associate most with the rustic farmhouse themes. So it's no surprise I was going to make another farm truck cookie for the season.

These fall pumpkin truck cookies are my new love. They are fairly simple to create and are sure to melt any vintage lover's heart.

Fall Pumpkin Truck Cookie Cutter

Just added to the shop for the upcoming  fall season is this Truck with Pumpkin cookie cutter.

The cookie cutters are available in two sizes: LARGE and REGULAR.

For this tutorial, I'll be decorating the LARGE size. However, you can see how the two sizes compare at the end of this post.

Template for the Fall Pumpkin Truck Cookies

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of my 2020 fall farmhouse cookie collection, including this pumpkin truck cookie design.

Click the link below for the downloadable template PDF file.

This file is four pages long and is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Decorating Process

For the colors used for these fall pumpkin truck cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:

Step 1

Begin by filling in the window and the center of the wheels with white icing. Also, fill in the middle pumpkin section with orange icing.

With autumn blue icing, fill in the truck body area, as shown. Let this icing set up (about 15 minutes).

Step 2

Next, carefully fill in the black tires around the white wheels, and a small dot in the middle of the wheel. Then fill in the sides of the pumpkin, as shown.

With gray icing, add the door handle and the two bumpers. Then add the brown pumpkin stem.

Once the base layer of icing had time to firm up and dry, add the two bumps over the wheels, as shown.

Lastly, outline the top edge of the truck and the pumpkin stem.

Fall Farm Truck Cookie Video Tutorial

The steps above are summarized in the time-lapsed video below.

This fall pumpkin truck cookie is part of a themed set that also includes stacked pumpkins, harvest arrow signs, and a farm sign stencil.

I know cookie sizing and packaging can be tricky to figure out, so I laid out both size options in this popular cookie box from BRP Box Shop. There are pros and cons to each size option.

The LARGE-sized cookies are easier to decorate, but leave little wiggle room in the gift box if your cookies spread.

The REGULAR-sized cookies have more wiggle room in the gift box, but writing the letters on the arrow sign can be challenging. You don't have as much space to write.

One of my favorite parts of this set is the pumpkin farm sign stencil. It's so quick and easy to add the rustic sign design with just a swipe of black icing.
