I really love how this new polar bear with tree cookie set turned out because it reminds me of those polar bears in the Coca-Cola Christmas commercials during my childhood. Those commercials were running through my mind when I was coming up with ideas for this year's Christmas designs. This new set was the end result.

One great thing about this set is you don't have to use the tree that comes with the set. You can purchase the polar bear alone and use any tree cookie cutter you may already own. The polar bear will look like it's decorating any tree that is set beside it.

Polar Bear & Tree Cookie Cutter Set

In the shop for this Christmas season is this polar bear with tree cookie set. The set consists of two cookie cutters: one polar bear and one chubby tree. You can purchase the pair as a set or purchase the polar bear alone.

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the new Christmas cookie cutter designs, including this polar bear design.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Decorating Process

To decorate these polar bear and tree cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:

Step 1

For the polar bear cookie, begin by filling in the small parts like the back ear, the arm, the tail, and the star base. Let this icing set up for about 15 minutes.

Then fill in the remaining bear body section, and fill in the star shape, as shown. Let this icing dry completely.

Step 2

Once the base layer of icing had time to dry, draw on the inner star details with a pink food pen. Also, outline the polar bear's body details with light blue icing.

Next, outline the star for dimension and add the black accents on the bear.

Step 3

For the Christmas tree cookie, I fill in the alternating sections. I begin with the middle tree section and the tree trunk first. I flooded the green background then quickly added the ornament dots for a smooth surface finish.

I then moved on to the top and lower sections of the tree with the same methodStep 2

Step 4

When the base layer of icing had time to set, I outline each tree section in the coordinating green icing.

I finished the tree decorations by added a white bead garland and attached snowflake sprinkles with white icing. (I got the large snowflake sprinkles from Target.)

The steps above are summarized in this time-lapsed video.

For packaging ideas, there's a few options I think would work. When assembled, this polar bear and tree set would fit nicely in:
