As parents are readying their little ones for back to school, I'm readying my latest collection of Halloween cookie cutters. Halloween will be here before you know it, so here's an early look at what is available in the shop this season.

When it comes to decorating full-body character cookies, the thought alone of the amount of body detail work involved can intimidate me to even start. But not these vampire cookies!

Black cats are known to be mischievous on Halloween night. And that’s the exact quality I tried to capture with these “Cat Under a Witch Hat” cookies. This kitty is hiding for a decorative reason. Just like these vampire cookies, by having this cat appear to be hiding under a hat, I hoped to make the decorating process a little easier by avoiding most of its body details.

There's this weird hangup I have about fall. I basically love everything there is about this time of year -- the cooler temps, the leaves changing color, the kids back in school, the pumpkin spice lattes, etc. You name it, I pretty much love it. Except one thing. Scarecrows. Scarecrows are like straw-filled autumn clowns. And clowns can make anyone a little uneasy.

With each passing holiday season, I try to do something a little different from what I've done for the previous years. During the autumn months, I always love seeing the earthy orange, red, and brown color combinations that typically appear this time of year. However, I felt maybe a change-up from the typical fall color palettes would be nice. This time around, I had my eye on finding a color scheme that looked a little more modern and unique.

If you've followed my last two recent posts, you probably sensed a common theme this season... my obsession with sunflowers. Well that obsession continues, at least one more time, with this post. Here's a very easy sunflower cookie platter design that I'm sure will please all your party guests. I love it because there's not a lot of decorating skill involved and it's super quick to assemble.
