Love Potion Cookie Cutters

This love potion bottle cookie cutter comes in a variety of sizes, but for this tutorial I used the LARGE size. For the love potion sign, I reused this 4 in. x 3 in. rectangle cookie cutter.

When assembled, this love potion set would fit nicely in this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").

Template for the Love Potion Cookie Set

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template of all the designs of this year's Valentine cookie collection, including this love potion cookie set design.

Click the link below for the downloadable template PDF file.

This file is rather large in data size. Just a warning, it might take a moment before the file opens in your browser.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Cookie Decorating Process

To decorate these love potion cookies, you will need the following suggested colors:

Step 1

For the love potion bottle, begin by filling in the cork section with light brown icing and the lower bottle section with white icing. Quickly add dark brown dots to the cork. Let this icing set for about 30 minutes.

Then add the red liquid detail to the white section, as shown. Also, fill in the top bottle area.

Step 2

Next, add the pink liquid details.

Then add the bottle outlines with gray icing.

Step 3

For the rectangle cookie, flood the entire cookie with white icing. Let this icing dry completely.

Then with stiff red icing, scrap over a Love Potion sign design with this "Love Potion" cookie stencil.

I decorated the large size bottle, but the regular size should also fit in this BRP cookie box (7" x 4 3/8" x 1.25").
