I'm really excited to showcase the new Halloween cookie cutter designs for this year! I know it's only mid-August, and it might seem too early to think about Halloween, especially in the middle of this summer heat. However, with any of the major cookie holidays, I wanted provide Halloween cookie cutter designs in the shop early to beat the rush. Hopefully, this will also help give ample time to start planning your own Halloween cookie options for the upcoming season.

Haunted house cookies can be intimidating to decorate, but they don’t have to be. I tried designing a version of a haunted house that takes only a few steps to decorate, but also carried enough character to put anyone in the Halloween spirit. Hopefully, these haunted house cookies do just that. The decorating process itself only involves 3 different icing colors, while the window face elements provide the punch of personality that will spook a smile on anyone’s face.

To accompany the haunted houses I showed last week, I also made these decorated ghost cookies. I should mention though, these aren’t your typical ghosts. I designed these ghost cookies to be more sassy than they are spooky. These chubby ghost cookies got some curves, for sure. But that was intentional. You see, their curvy, round bellies provide a large enough area to add a nice personalized message. For this tutorial, I’ll show how to add a “Boo” bunting banner to these ghosts. However, I’ll share a few other decorating ideas at the end of this post to showcase how versatile this ghost can be.

I can’t WAIT for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Not only because we get a three-day weekend, but because it also marks the unofficial day of fall. And nothing says “Fall” more than pumpkins. This week I was excited to see them slowly popping up in grocery aisles. Also, this weekend is when Starbucks begins serving pumpkin spice lattes. Pumpkins and pumpkin spice flavoring are the ultimate power duo for getting anyone in the autumn mood.

It's funny to think where you end up pulling creative inspiration from. For instance, I remember a few months ago a post on these dissected gingerbread men by Jason Freeny was making its rounds on social media. Aren't they the coolest? Well, fast forward a couple months later to now. That's where these gingerbread man skeleton cookies came into existence. Taking inspiration from Jason Freeny's design, I modified my favorite gingerbread man cookie cutter from last year for this idea. To simplify things for easy decorating, I changed up the original skeleton design to look less scientific and more Halloweeny.

Woodland animals is such an awesome theme. I love its earthy, warm color tones, making it perfect for the autumn season. However, I believe it’s a universal theme suitable any time of the year really. Additionally, woodland animals is fitting for any gender. Parents of both boys and girls would love this theme for their kiddo’s baby shower or birthday celebrations. Basically, it's a theme perfect for everyone.
