Out of all the new Valentine's Day cookie designs this year, I'm probably most excited about this floral wreath cookie platter!

I received such positive feedback on my last snowflake platter idea that I wanted to challenge myself to make something similar for Valentine's Day. I tried my best to simplify this design as much as I could, however it's still a bit more intricate compared to the snowflake platter. That being said, I still think it's simple enough to mass-produce if needed.

One thing I wanted to mention is this cookie platter is obviously great for Valentine's Day, with its wreath of red and pink roses. However, if you change the color scheme and modify the type of flowers, this floral wreath cookie platter could easily be used for Mother's Day, as well.

Multi-occasional designs is always a plus with cookie cutters!

Floral Wreath Cookie Cutter Set

This floral wreath platter cookie cutter set includes two separate pieces: a large floral bunch and a center circle cookie cutter. You can purchase both cookie cutters together, or a single piece without the circle cutter.

When arranged as a large floral wreath, as shown in the example picture of this post, the platter measures 12 inches in diameter.

(NOTE: The center, 3.5-inch, circle cookie cutter is the same center circle cutter I used for the snowflake platter set. So if you purchased that set during Christmas, you only would need the floral bunch cutter this time around.)

Template for the Floral Wreath Cookie Platter

To help with the decorating process, I made a PDF template available for floral bunch cookie design as a guideline.

You can download the floral wreath cookie template HERE.

If you have a Kopykake or Pico projector, just print it out (or pull it up on your mobile device) and you are good to go. For those without a projector, follow the suggested steps below by tracing the design onto the cookie with an edible food marker.

The Decorating Process

For this floral wreath cookie platter, I used this pretty Valentine's Day icing palette by Sweet Sugarbelle. I remember falling in love with that color scheme last year and couldn't wait to give it a go myself.

Step 1

For those without a projector, begin by making a guideline for where the two roses should be. I made a template with template plastic from the PDF file above and used a food marker to draw the guideline on the cookie.

Step 2

Next, fill in one of the rose areas and then one side of each of the leaf sections. This will give this floral bunch nice dimension.

Let the icing set and crust, then fill in the other rose area. Let this icing set again for about 20 more minutes.

Step 3

After the icing had time to set, fill in the remaining sides of the leaves.

Lastly, with a #2 tip, add the rose line details for the finishing touch.

Video Tutorial

The steps above are summarized in the time-lapsed video below.

Here's the complete floral cookie platter all assembled. In total there are nine cookies that comprise this platter: eight floral bunches and one center message cookie.

The platter rests perfectly in a pizza pan I got at the dollar store. What I love about this pizza pan is the edge kind of locks all the cookie pieces in place. So even if the cookies do shift while being handled, it won't be a total mess that would need to be rearranged again.
